Strength Deployment Inventory

The Strength Deployment Inventory is an inventory created by Dr. Elias H. Porter, who worked closely with Carl Rogers. Dr. Porter wanted to create an instrument that would help people learn how to have truly effective interpersonal relationships.

Through the process of the SDI course participants learn how they react in times of “feel good” and when things are “not going so well”. With this knowledge, about themselves and other members of their team, a team becomes more effective, harmonious and able to model more effective supervision. All in all a more productive work environment is established.

The ultimate benefits to SDI training are to strengthen your communication skills and to understand your personal motivational values as well as those of your team members. Increased communication skills enhance self confidence and personal effectiveness both at home and in your personal relationships.

Strength Deployment Inventory is a two day seminar that begins with the participants completing a self-inventory. The participants are then taught how to chart and translate their information. After a debriefing of the individual styles there is an open discussion to enhance awareness of both the motivational values system and the conflict sequence. Participants are given the opportunity to talk to other members of their team about each others style. This time of communication opens the door to understanding and a more harmonious work environment.
