I am a self motivated teacher and entrepreneur who insists on turning each life experience into fuel to move forward. I grew up in a small town in central British Columbia. I learned early that life was not all that one dreams it to be.
But having said that: I have never stopped dreaming, and I have never stopped reaching for just one more dream.
Now, as a single mother of four children I can relate my story of turning trials into treasures. I want to share my life in a way that will motivate women to stand up, brush off the dirt and mud, take another deep breath and move forward.
I believe that single moms are amazing people. I believe they can accomplish anything and everything they set their minds to. My goal is to encourage those who need encouragement and to inspire those who need inspiration.

My journey of single parenthood began 13 years ago. I left my husband of 7 years, when I was six weeks pregnant with our fourth child. Since that time I have raised our children single handedly, homeschooled all four of them, pursued my Masters Degree, published a book, and attained four other facilitation designations. During that time my children and I endured a house fire, the death of their father and the day to day sacrifice of being a working mom.
My journey has been riddled with character building moments as well as moments of great triumph. If I can encourage one woman to stand up and make positive changes in her life, no matter how well she is doing now, I will sleep better. As a friend from university told me: "Not to share your story Sheila, is selfish."
May the days, weeks and years ahead of us draw us closer together as women, as mom's, and as world changers.

I hired Sheila to develop and lead a workshop on conflict resolution to my staff of eight. The workshop was well-organised. The feedback I received from staff was all positive, and they found the workshop to be constructive and effective. Subsequent to the workshop, the level of staff interpersonal conflict was much reduced, and I found the attitudes and productivity of the staff much improved. I would recommend Sheila for any organization that desires to improve its interstaff relations and increase productivity.
